Key Points:

• Ensure alignment. Start and end the year with a strategic planning session that ensures the team understand where they are going, and where they've been.

 

• Commitment is central. Have your team members state what they are willing to do to ensure the goals are achieved.  This is more than agreeing to actions, it is a statement of personal intent...this is called a Pledge.

• The team comes first.  If your team is misaligned, then your business will be misaligned.  Silos are created when there is a high degree of psychological distance between leadership team members.  So work on the team, and put it's cohesion first and the organisation will follow.
