Course OverviewThe course is delivered over four consecutive weeks, with a combination of webinar, personal action and experimentation, and group coaching. The sessions and intersession homework activities cover the following:
Session 1: Developing engaging remote relationships In this session you will learn how to reduce the psychological distance in your team and your relationships and build resilient, engaging relationships - despite the distance. Intersession assignment: Create and implement a remote engagement plan for your team which is reflected on at the start of the next session, and in your group coaching session. Session 2: Engaging remote conversations & meetings Engaging conversations can still be had despite the distance. This session looks at how we can prepare and frame conversations for greater effect and also explores our personal mindset, approach and practical tips for effective remote conversations and meetings. Intersession assignment: Practice your new approach and complete a reflection assignment for review at the start of the next session and in your group coaching session. You will also complete a Working Styles survey ready for the next session. Session 3: Using your working style to enable engaging relationships We each have different working styles that we deploy every day, and they can both enable or get in the way of developing engaging relationships. When we are in the same workspace, we can see the impact we are having on others and it's easier to do something about it. In a remote situation, we can't always see, or hear, the impact our style is having on others, and so we need to more fully understand our working style and work out how to optimise the way you use it to help build strong remote relationships. Intersession assignment: Put your action plan into place for optimising your working style. Group Coaching Session In this session we will reflect on your intersession activities and you will have the opportunity to share what worked, what didn't and to learn from each other in a very practical sense. OPTIONAL Individual Coaching Session There is the option of taking up a three session engaging leadership coaching assignment where you have the opportunity to fine tune your approach even further, and to explore in a more personal sense how you manage your own motivation, time and boundaries between work and home. Is working remotely for everyone? No, it’s not. When most people signed up for their current role, there was no expectation that they’d be working from home, juggling their work life with being a home-schooling parent as well as sharing close quarters with a partner or flat mate who may also be working from home. And if they happen to be someone who needs rituals, routines and constant visual reminders to stay focused then they are in for a rude shock! |
